The design of the MIM parts made in China and plastic injection molding is similar.
In order to make the MIM metal parts can give full play to the advantages of MIM technology in the design process, have a few guidelines.
When designing the MIM stainless steel parts , to fully gain this process for all interests, must consider the following key points: uniform wall thickness, the thickness of the transition section, cored hole, draft, strengthen rib and spoke plates, chamfering and rounding, threads, holes and slots, root cutting, pouring system, parting line, decorative feature, sintering support, etc.
1.1 Wall thickness uniformity
If possible, the high quality MIM parts of the wall thickness should be the same.Thickness of different will lead to distortion and internal stress, holes, cracks and dents.Also leads to uneven contraction, affect the dimensional tolerance and control.
?The thickness of the parts is best in the range of 1.3 ~ 6.3 mm.
1.2 The thickness of the transition section
If you cannot meet the uniform wall thickness, different thickness between should be designed to be gradual transition.As shown in figure 2
1.3 Cored hole
Using cored hole within a cross section can be reduced to rules limit, achieve uniform wall thickness, reduce material consumption and to reduce or eliminate machining operations.
