- MIM (175)
When considering the use of MIM, we can measure it from the following aspects.
The first is the complexity of the product.
MIM is the same as plastic injection molding to achieve complex parts of flexible design.Parts that require multiple parts for assembly can be designed into a single MIM part, complex parts that cannot be manufactured by other processes, and complex parts that require multiple machining processes to complete.
The second is weight and size.
The weight of the product ranges from 0.1 to 250 grams, and 50 grams is the most economical weight.0.01 g of product can now be produced.
Because of the price of raw powder, the cost of products larger than 100 grams may rise.Wall thickness of 2 to 6 mm is most suitable for MIM.
The third is production.
Ten thousand to two million is the most suitable and economical quantity, the larger the quantity, the more it can reflect the cost advantage. However, considering the cost of mold and development input, if the product quantity is too small and the cost is Shared to the product, the unit price will be difficult to accept.
Fourth, raw materials and performance.
MIM can be used in a wide range of materials, from stainless steel, low alloy steel, hard alloy, high specific gravity alloy to high temperature alloy, titanium alloy, ceramic and metal matrix composites. In terms of performance, materials that are close to full density and difficult to be machined, non-standard materials, good surface roughness and clearer details of structural features are all suitable for the adoption of MIM technology.
